Naše Divadlo Calgary - Membership Structure

1. Core Principle

Naše Divadlo Calgary is a non-profit community theatre organization supported by its members.Membership is open to anyone who wishes to support the theatre.

Annual Membership Fee: $10 per person

Membership helps support theatre activities and allows members to participate in the governance of the organization.

2. Membership Benefits

All members receive:
• A 10% discount on tickets for theatre performances and events
• Information about upcoming productions and activities
• One vote per member

Members do not vote on artistic or production decisions, which remain the responsibility of the director and production team.

3. Participation in Theatre Productions

Membership does not automatically include participation in theatre productions.

Participation in productions happens separately through:

• auditions

• invitations from the production team

• volunteering for backstage roles

4. Active Theatre Participants

Actors, directors, and crew members who participate in productions are considered Active Theatre Participants.

Active participants:

• must also hold a valid annual membership

• receive the Theatre Welcome Package

• follow rehearsal schedules and production guidelines

• work with the director and production team

This package includes information about:

• theatre roles

• rehearsal expectations

• backstage conduct

• production guidelines

• consent forms

5. Community Members

Community Members are supporters who:

• attend performances and events

• support the theatre’s mission

• participate in events

• help grow the theatre community

Community members are not expected to participate in productions.

6. Governance

Naše Divadlo Calgary is governed by its Board of Directors.The Board is responsible for:

• guiding the organization

• maintaining legal and nonprofit compliance

• supporting the theatre’s mission and long-term development

Board members are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.

7. Join the Theatre Community

Important Information About Membership Registration

Please note that membership registration is processed through Zeffy, a secure platform used by many nonprofit organizations.

When completing your membership through Zeffy, you may see an option to add a small optional donation to Zeffy to support the platform. This contribution goes directly to Zeffy, not to Naše Divadlo Calgary.This donation is completely optional. If you prefer not to contribute, simply select “Other” and enter 0%.

Your annual membership fee remains $10 per person. After completing your registration, your membership will be confirmed automatically and you will receive a confirmation email and membership card from Zeffy. Naše Divadlo Calgary is a volunteer-run, nonprofit community theatre, and your membership helps support our community and future productions.

Anyone may become a member of Naše Divadlo Calgary. Membership is $10 per year per person.
